SBI Clerk Exam Syllabus

The State Bank of India conducts SBI Clerk Exam to hire candidates for Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) in its different branches across the country.

SBI Clerk is one of the most famous bank exams today. It is a national-level exam, and the minimum qualification required to apply is a Bachelor’s degree.

SBI Clerk and PO broadly have the same syllabus. Below mention are the topics on which the questions are asked.

SBI Clerk Prelims Syllabus

As per the notification, the prelims exam will take place in February, candidates have to buckle up for their preparation. SBI Clerk Syllabus for Prelims will have questions from aptitude in order to check a candidate’s knowledge and rationale.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern

SBI completes the recruitment process for Clerk Cadre in three phases.

Phase I: Prelims exam, which consist of 100 multiple choice questions. It’s only a qualifying test.

Phase II: Candidates numbering 10 times (approx.) the numbers of vacancies in each category will be short listed for Main Examination from the top of above merit list. Candidates who qualify prelims exam and get shortlisted will need to appear in mains exam. In mains exam candidate needs to attempt 190 multiple choice questions and local language test.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main examination)

In the Objective Tests, there will be a penalty for incorrect responses. One-fourth of the marks allotted to that question will be subtracted as a penalty for each question for which the candidate provided an incorrect answer. There will be no penalty if a question is left blank, that if the candidate does not mark an answer.

Each candidate must get a minimum score on each test of the Online Single examination in order to be selected for the next phase of recruitement.

Phase III: On the basis of the mains exam, a provisional selection is made, and post that candidate needs to clear the local language test. Candidates who can provide a 10th or 12th certificate stating that they have studied the opted language need not appear for the test, for those who can’t produce the certificate will have to go through a local language test, to check their reading, writing, and speaking proficiency of the local language.
