Candidates who wish to apply for JKSSB recruitment must be aware with its syllabus and exam pattern for their District cadre, Divisional cadre, and Union Territory. Candidates who will take the JKSSB test must be aware of the full syllabus and exam pattern before beginning to prepare for the exam. Of course, this would help applicants in covering the whole syllabus in a topic-wise pattern for all subjects.

  • Aspirants can also prepare for the exam by taking mock tests or taking part in a test series. Also, knowing the exam pattern is important for candidates.

SYLLABUS

The selection process for the JKSSB will be divided into two parts. To get placed, candidates must pass both the written test and the document verification. We can now go over the detailed syllabus for the written exam. While preparing for the examination, candidates must read the syllabus given below.

REASONING

(A logical reasoning test measures the ability or aptitude to reason logically. Also, the non-verbal abilities of the candidate are tested.)

(Basic 10th level math is required for this test.)

(In competitive exams hold on the English language is needed.  Thus, it is an important part of the exam process. Grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension are three of the most important sections of the English language. )

GENERAL AWARENESS AND SCIENCES

(Awareness is necessary for the skills that are needed to fulfill the duties of the post for which the candidate has applied.)

Current events at National Level, Sports, India culture, India history, Indian geography, Capital/State, General Science- Biology, Chemistry & Physics; Health, Hygiene & Sanitation; Geography of J&K, Culture of J&K, History of J&K.

 

JKSSB EXAM PATTERN & SELECTION PROCESS

The JKSSB’s selection process consists of only two stages, the written exam and Document Verification. But, other criteria will also be examined by the selection board during the final score review. Also, it differs across Union Territories, Divisional Cadre, and District Cadre. The tables are given below clarify the other criteria considered for the final selection:

JKSSB EXAM PATTERN

WRITTEN TEST

It is the first part of the selection process. In general, the JKSSB exam is of 100 marks and covers topics like basic mathematics, Basic English, general awareness, science, and logical thinking and reasoning. Further, for a better understanding, check the table below:

  • The paper will only be available in the English language.
  • It will be a multiple-choice test with objective questions.
  • Equally important, a 0.25 mark negative marking will be applied for each wrong answer.

Document Verification

It is the 2nd and last stage of the selection process. Candidates who pass the written test with the needed cut-off marks will be called for the Document Verification. Candidates must provide the original documents as well as a self-attested Photo-copy of each document given below. It is important to note that the candidate must have the necessary academic qualifications and age confirmation certificates. In fact, the certificate must be issued on or before the last date for submitting the online application form. In addition, other documents such as a Domicile Certificate, Category Certificate, etc. must be produced on the day of Document Verification.

  • Degree or certificate of graduate, post-graduate, or doctorate.
  • 12th certificate.
  • 10th certificate (required for Date Of Birth)
  • If a candidate claims a certain qualification as an equivalent qualification, an order letter is needed. It should indicate the authority (number and date) under which it has been so held. It is done considering the equivalent clause in the Essential Qualifications section.
  • Caste/Category Certificate, if you fall into one of the reserved categories.
  • Besides, two current passport-sized photo, one original ID (Aadhar Card Voters ID, etc.) is required.
  • Additionally, candidates claiming domicile must present a J&K domicile certificate.
  • Also, a Physically Handicapped Certificate is required (if applied under PH category)

TIPS ON JKSSB EXAM PATTERN & SYLLABUS

  •  Study the syllabus carefully. Since this will help the candidate to plan the preparation better and stick to the needed curriculum
  • Along with the syllabus, examine the previous year’s test papers. Also, check to see whether the exam pattern has changed. In this manner, one can get an idea of how much time as well as expertise are essential for preparation and passing the exam.
  • Even, make a plan for every day. If possible, prepare a timetable till a week before the exam.
  • In addition, take weekly time bound tests to determine your level of preparation. To take tests, use model test papers, test series, online test papers, and so on.
  • Take breaks whenever you need them. In fact, to keep your thoughts peaceful in the morning, practice meditation.
  • Like any other competitive exam, general knowledge and current affairs are included in this written test as well. Candidates must be familiar with current events. Even after they are hired, they should still keep up with current national and international affairs.

Q1.) JKSSB Selection Process comprises of how many stages?

A1.) For the various vacancies advertised by the JKSSB, the selection process have two stages:

  • Written Test, which carries a total of 100 marks.
