Cut off Marks

Knowing the cut-offs is important because it helps to plan the strategy for qualifying and to understand how much one has to score according to the category he belongs to.

Things on which cut off marks depend on each year:-

  • The cut-off is directly proportional to the number of examinees, i.e. the more is the number of candidates, the higher is the cut-off.
  • Also, a high number of vacancies leads to higher cut off marks.
  • Moreover, the difficulty level of the paper has a role to play. If the paper is comparatively easier, most of the aspirants are able to get a decent score, hence the cut off also rises.

The cut-off mark of the last year is crucial because that is the basis of setting the cut-off, that is, the contemplation starts from there— and then the additional factors are added.
