UPSC exams are one of the toughest exams to crack in the country. Many students attempt this paper annually, thanks to the distinguished posts and high-end salaries offered by being a public service officer. The official notification released by the UPSC also provided a schedule for the examination. Up till now, the UPSC CSE Prelims examinations have been concluded and 5th June 2022. The Mains examination is set to be held from 16th September 2022 onwards.

UPSC CSE 2022 – Exam Date

 The application procedure began on 2nd February 2022 up till 22nd February 2022. The application process was online, and the form was accessible from their official website. Admit Cards for the Prelims examination were released a week before the paper i.e. in the last week of May 2022. On 5th June 2022, the Prelims examination was held offline at all the respective exam centers. The results soon expected to be announced by the commission after which eligible candidates will appear for the Mains examination from 16th September onwards.

Q1. What is the UPSC exam date in 2021?

Ans. The official notification released by the UPSC also provided a schedule for the examination. Up till now, the UPSC CSE Prelims examinations have been concluded and 5th June 2022. The Mains examination is set to be held from 16th September 2022 onwards.

Q2. Can I apply for UPSC 2022 now?

Ans. The official notification for the Exam was released on 2nd February 2022 by the Union Public Service Commission which provides all the necessary details about the exam. The application process started on the same date and applications were closed on 22nd February 2022. So candidates cannot apply for UPSC 2022 now, but they can surely keep their eyes open for the next batch of registration.

Q3. What is the age limit for IAS?

Ans. The age of the candidate must be between 21 to 32 years as of August 2022. Relaxation of age is provided depending upon the category. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category have the upper age limit of 37 years i.e. 5 years relaxation and candidates belonging to the OBC category have the upper age limit of 35 years i.e., 3-year relaxation.

Q4. What is the ratio of IAS selection?

Ans. According to the 2020 statistics, 72 candidates are selected from the General Category, 18 candidates will be selected from the Economically Weaker Class, 49 candidates will be selected from the Other Backward Class category, and 28 and 13 candidates will be selected from the SC ad ST category respectively. Out of a total of 761 vacancies, 180 seats were reserved for IAS officers.
