NMAT stands for Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Management Aptitude Test. NMAT by GMAC is a National level entrance exam. This entrance exam provides admission to top Business Schools across the country. NMAT stands for NMIMS Management Aptitude Test. Earlier it was conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. This is a Private Business School in the country and is one of the top-ranked institutes. However, since 2015, Graduate Management Aptitude Council (GMAC) conducts NMAT. Hence, the name NMAT by GMAC. Students who clear NMAT 2021 by GMAC can opt for MBA/PGDM courses offered by NMIMS. NMIMS is a well known Business School in India
There are various other institutes that accept NMAT scores other than NMIMS. Students can hence opt for several top-ranked Business schools to kick-start their careers. Students clearing NMAT can choose MBA/PGDM programs with a wide range of specializations such as Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Information Systems, Operation and Decision Sciences and Pharmaceutical Management. NMAT is a student-friendly exam. This means they have the liberty to choose their date, time, and venue for the exam.
Students can attempt this exam 3 times. The first time is the main attempt. The second and third times are retakes. This exam can be taken from India as well as Abroad. The NMAT by GMAC consists of 3 sections: Language Skills, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Skills. Each section consists of 36 questions carrying 1 mark each. The exam can be taken in 2 ways: Computer-based Tests and Online Proctored Exams from home.
GMAC has announced NMAT 2021 dates. NMAT by GMAC registration has started from 3rd August 2021. NMAT will be held from 14th October to 27th December 2021 over a 75-day test window. Applications will close on 10th November 2021.

Students must always check the NMAT eligibility criteria before applying for an entrance test or institute. It helps to understand whether they will be eligible to take the test or apply to a college.
Students should have completed 10+2 level and 3 years graduation or equivalent course for applying to NMAT 2021. Applicants can be from any stream. She/he must have scored at least 50% aggregate in graduation level to opt for NMAT 2021. Students who are in their final year of graduation can also apply. Institutes will grant admission to those students on a provisional basis. Admission will be finalized after submitting the graduation mark sheet and qualifying exam certificate.
However, different participating institutes will have different eligibility criteria. She/he must check the individual eligibility criteria before applying to any institute. A student can choose up to 5 colleges while registering for NMAT 2021.
There is no age bar for taking NMAT 2021 by GMAC.
The student must have at least 50% aggregate in a full-time Bachelors course. She/he can be from any discipline. Students must have a GMAT score of 600 and above. The candidate will need clearance from their country’s government and a valid student visa from the Indian Embassy of Home country.

The student must already know that GMAC offers 3 attempts to perform better in NMAT. She/he is free to take all the 3 attempts in order to improve the score and use their best score to get into an institute of choice. NMAT is an MBA Entrance exam conducted by GMAC. Earlier it was conducted by NMIMS. NMAT Syllabus will consist of 360 marks. It will have 108 Multiple Choice Questions. The MCQs will be divided into 3 sections: Language Skills, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability. GMAC has updated the NMAT syllabus and exam pattern. The latest update says there will be no negative marking for wrong/unattempted questions.

GMAC tends to introduce some changes in the syllabus and exam pattern of the NMAT every year. Last year, NMAT 2020 underwent some changes. This year, NMAT 2021 sees some more changes. WE have mentioned below the changes in NMAT 2021 exam as per the official notification from GMAC.
NMAT is one of the most competitive exams in India. Students are increasingly opting for this test. There is immense scope in taking NMAT 2021. We would like to enlist a few reasons why you should take NMAT 2021 right away.
GMAC will release the NMAT 2021 admit card on the official website, https://register.nmat.org/. Students will need to visit the official website and use their credentials to download the NMAT 2021 admit card. Applicants can follow the steps given below to download their NMAT 2021 admit card.

NMAT results will roughly be released 2-3 weeks after the final exam is over. The result will be released for all the candidates. They can view their results by visiting the official website of NMAT by GMAC, https://register.nmat.org/ . However, students can view their individual scorecards within 48 hours of taking the test. GMAC will also notify the candidates on their email ID after the results will be made available. Students can download the results till March 2022 end (roughly). NMAT results usually consist of a scorecard with the marks for every section, the percentile and overall score. The NMAT 2021 results will also be sent to the institutes chosen by the students during the NMAT 2021 online application step. Every institute will have a specific cut-off. The institutes will select the candidate based on their respective cut-offs.
Hence, students must make the best use of the 3 attempts provided to them. This will ensure that they can choose to score better in every attempt. This increases the chance of getting into a college of choice.

The NMAT selection process will begin after NMAT 2021 results and the cut-off for each college is published. There is no centralized selection process taking place for NMAT 2021. Every college carries out its own selection process based on its criteria and cut-offs. The selection process is based on Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). The final admission depends on these two rounds and NMAT scores combined. However, some colleges may conduct a written test instead of a Group Discussion round. Students must be prepared beforehand.
