GMAC has announced NMAT 2021 dates. NMAT by GMAC registration has started from 3^rd August 2021. NMAT will be held from 14^th October to 27^th December 2021 over a 75-day test window. Applications will close on 10^th November 2021.

NMAT Eligibility

Students must always check the NMAT eligibility criteria before applying for an entrance test or institute. It helps to understand whether they will be eligible to take the test or apply to a college.

Students should have completed 10+2 level and 3 years graduation or equivalent course for applying to NMAT 2021. Applicants can be from any stream. She/he must have scored at least 50% aggregate in graduation level to opt for NMAT 2021. Students who are in their final year of graduation can also apply. Institutes will grant admission to those students on a provisional basis. Admission will be finalized after submitting the graduation mark sheet and qualifying exam certificate.

However, different participating institutes will have different eligibility criteria. She/he must check the individual eligibility criteria before applying to any institute. A student can choose up to 5 colleges while registering for NMAT 2021.

There is no age bar for taking NMAT 2021 by GMAC.

 

For Overseas Students:

The student must have at least 50% aggregate in a full-time Bachelors course. She/he can be from any discipline. Students must have a GMAT score of 600 and above. The candidate will need clearance from their country’s government and a valid student visa from the Indian Embassy of Home country.

 

NMAT Registration 

The NMAT registration process has begun. NMAT by GMAC has released the application forms on their official website. The forms have been released on 3^rd August 2021. Students can follow the steps below to apply and register for NMAT by GMAC.

 

• Students must visit the official website https://register.nmat.org/ and create an account for NMAT Registration with a valid email ID
• She/he must provide all details correctly. The details include Personal details, contact information, education qualification, work details if any. Other details include ID proof, programs/courses of interest. The ID proof will be required for verification at the test centre
• Students will have to choose up to 5 institutes they would like to apply to. THE NMAT scores will be sent to these institutes after NMAT by GMAC results are declared
• Applicants must upload a scanned copy of the recent photograph
• She/he must choose a suitable test centre, time and date on the exam schedule link after registering themselves
• NMAT application fee must be paid online. An application fee of Rs.2,300/- has to be paid via card only. Options include Mastercard, Debit, American Express, Diners Club, Net Banking or Mobile wallets. NMAT Rescheduling payments will also be accepted online

Steps to Schedule NMAT and utilize 3 attempts:

The student must already know that GMAC offers 3 attempts to perform better in NMAT. She/he is free to take all the 3 attempts in order to improve the score and use their best score to get into an institute of choice. Thus, she/he will need to register for the exam as soon as possible. The table below shows the number of possible attempts date-wise

NMAT Syllabus:

NMAT is an MBA Entrance exam conducted by GMAC. Earlier it was conducted by NMIMS. NMAT Syllabus will consist of 360 marks. It will have 108 Multiple Choice Questions. The MCQs will be divided into 3 sections: Language Skills, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability. GMAC has updated the NMAT syllabus and exam pattern. The latest update says there will be no negative marking for wrong/unattempted questions.

Key Changes in NMAT 2021:

GMAC tends to introduce some changes in the syllabus and exam pattern of the NMAT every year. Last year, NMAT 2020 underwent some changes. This year, NMAT 2021 sees some more changes. WE have mentioned below the changes in NMAT 2021 exam as per the official notification from GMAC.

 

• NMAT 2021 exam pattern will be the same as NMAT 2020. However, there will be about 10% fewer questions than last year. NMAT 2021 will have 108 questions. The time allotted for the exam is 2 hours or 120 minutes
• The NMAT 2021 application fee has been increased. The application fee has been increased from INR 2000 to INR 2300 for early application. The fee has increased from INR 2500 to INR 2800 for late registration
• No changes have been introduced in the NMAT 2021 Marking scheme
• GMAC has increased the number of test cities for NMAT 2021. NMAT 2020 was conducted from 66 exam centres in 52 cities last year. This year, NMAT 2021 will be conducted from 73 exam centres located in 68 test cities
• NMAT 2021 75 days testing window dates are from 14^th October to 27^th December 2021
• NMAT 2021 applicants will be able to view their exam scores within 48 hours of the exam. They can take the test again if they wish to. There are up to 2 retakes for NMAT 2021
• NMAT 2021 will be conducted in 2 modes. The 2 modes are Computer Based Test and Remote proctored mode from home. Both modes are online. A student can take the test from India or anywhere in the world

 

Why should you take NMAT ?

NMAT is one of the most competitive exams in India. Students are increasingly opting for this test. There is immense scope in taking NMAT 2021. We would like to enlist a few reasons why you should take NMAT 2021 right away.

 

• Admission to top Business schools in the country. NMAT is originally the entrance exam for NMIMS, a leading business school in the country. Clearing the test will open gates to a wide range of top B-schools in the country as well as abroad. • Equal Weightage to all 3 sections. The NMAT exam consists of 3 sections. There are 36 questions in each section. So, she/he can choose to start from a section of choice and proceed accordingly

 

Other Reasons:

• Students can self schedule the NMAT exam as per convenience, preparation and preference. There is a 75-day test window to take the test. However, the number of attempts would vary based on the dates
• Option to choose exam mode. The student is free to choose an exam mode as per convenience. She/he can take the test either through CBT mode or Online proctored mode. Students taking tests from abroad can only take through the home proctored mode.

 

NMAT Admit card:

GMAC will release the NMAT 2021 admit card on the official website, https://register.nmat.org/. Students will need to visit the official website and use their credentials to download the NMAT 2021 admit card. Applicants can follow the steps given below to download their NMAT 2021 admit card.

 

• Visit the official NMAT by GMAC website, https://register.nmat.org/ and find the link for NMAT 2021 admit card
• A new page will open. Students will need to enter their credentials used at the time of application to view the admit card. The credentials include personal email ID and password
• The admit card will appear. Students must save and download the admit card for exams and future references. This will be mandatory during the exam
• The student must report to the NMAT helpdesk if she/he faces trouble in downloading the admit card or any detail is misprinted. It must be reported and rectified right away.

NMAT Results:

NMAT results will roughly be released 2-3 weeks after the final exam is over. The result will be released for all the candidates. They can view their results by visiting the official website of NMAT by GMAC, https://register.nmat.org/ . However, students can view their individual scorecards within 48 hours of taking the test. GMAC will also notify the candidates on their email ID after the results will be made available. Students can download the results till March 2022 end (roughly). NMAT results usually consist of a scorecard with the marks for every section, the percentile and overall score. The NMAT 2021 results will also be sent to the institutes chosen by the students during the NMAT 2021 online application step. Every institute will have a specific cut-off. The institutes will select the candidate based on their respective cut-offs.

Hence, students must make the best use of the 3 attempts provided to them. This will ensure that they can choose to score better in every attempt. This increases the chance of getting into a college of choice.

 

How to check NMAT 2021 Results:

Students can view and download their NMAT results from the official website of NMAT by GMAC. They can follow the steps below to download the results:

 

• Visit the NMAT by GMAC official website, https://register.nmat.org/ and click the NMAT 2021 Results link
• A new page will open. The page will ask for credentials. Students must enter their details like login ID/registration number and password (same as application)
• The results will appear on the new page. Students must download the scorecard and keep it safe. It will be required during the counselling and admission procedure

NMAT Selection Process:

The NMAT selection process will begin after NMAT 2021 results and the cut-off for each college is published. There is no centralized selection process taking place for NMAT 2021. Every college carries out its own selection process based on its criteria and cut-offs. The selection process is based on Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). The final admission depends on these two rounds and NMAT scores combined. However, some colleges may conduct a written test instead of a Group Discussion round. Students must be prepared beforehand.
