NIMCET stands for National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance. This exam is conducted by NITs which is the National Institutes of Technology. It is conducted for the admission of the MCA program. Also, the exam was conducted on 20th June, 2022. Moreover, the candidates don’t have to apply for the NIMCET exam separately for any NIT. The admission in all the 10 NITs will be on the basis of NIMCET rank. However, it also depends on the choice of the institute. The application form can be filled from the official website. Also, the exam consists of objective questions. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark on each wrong answer.
NIMCET is a National Level Exam. It is conducted by NITs for admission to the MCA program. Also, this exam is for all the 11 NITs all over India. The candidate will get admission to NIT on the basis of NIMCET rank. The notification was released on 28th March, 2022. The application date is from 04th April to May 9th, 2022. Also, the total number of vacancies released was 951. However, the cutoff marks depend on the category of the candidates and test centers.

The NIMCET 2022 notification was released on 28th March, 2022. It will be released on the official website. Also, the notification contains all the details about the exam. It contains the exam date, syllabus as well as exam pattern. So, the candidates are advised to check to always check the official notification. The official website is nimcet.in. There is no upper or lower age limit for applying for NIMCET Exam. Hence, this is good news for the candidates. Now, the candidates do not have to think about the age limit of the exam.

The registration of the NIMCET exam is active from 04th April – 09th May, 2022. It was an online process. Moreover, the application form will be available on the official website. For participating in the exam candidates have to submit the form before the last date. Firstly, the candidate has to complete the registration process. Secondly, the candidate needs to fill in all the details in the form. Lastly, they have to upload the scanned documents and pay the fee. The candidate who has completed the application process can be able to get the admit card.
Also, there is a NIMCET application fee of Rs. 2500 for OPEN/OPEN-EWS/OBC Category. But, for SC/ST/PwD the application fee is Rs.1250. After registration candidate will get a password to log in. Moreover, after filling the form the candidate will get an application number. Also, the candidates have to take two copies of the application form and e-receipt for future reference.

Algebra
Algebra contains fundamental operations in algebra, expansions. Also, some topics like factorization, geometric and harmonic progressions are there. Moreover, linear/quadratic equations, logarithms, arithmetic is also there.
Set Theory
The set theory consists of the Concept of sets union, Intersection, Elementary counting. Also, it has some topics like permutation combinations and cardinality.
Probability and Statistics
This unit includes topics like Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, frequency distributions. Moreover, some topics like dependent and independent events and measures of central tendencies and dispersions are also there.
Coordinate Geometry
This chapter includes Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, equation of a line, pair of straight lines. Also, it has distance formulae equations of a circle, parabola, hyperbola, and ellipse.
Calculus
Calculus includes the limit of functions, tangents, and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Also, the topics like integration of functions by parts, substitutions, and partial fractions are there.
Trigonometry
This unit has topics like trigonometric equations, simple identities, solutions of triangles, general solutions of trigonometric equations, and heights and distances.
Basics of Computer
This subject includes topics like the organization of computers, the structure of instructions in the CPU, and input/output devices. Also, backup devices and computer memory are there.
Data Representation
It has integers and fractions, representation of characters, and binary arithmetic additions. Moreover, it contains some more topics like arithmetic, Boolean algebra, and truth tables.
General English contains Grammer, synonyms and antonyms, and Technical writing.
The reasoning has two topics Logical situation and Facts given in the passage.

NIMCET result is in the form of a scorecard. Hence, the allotment of the candidate depends on the secured rank. The qualified candidates will be called for counseling depending on their rank. Also, the rank list is declared few days after the exam. It is released in online mode. The cut-off will also be released by the authority. Generally, the cut-off is the minimum marks which the candidate has to obtain. Hence, the candidate has to obtain the minimum cut-off to qualify. After qualifying, the counseling process starts followed by seat allotment.

After the result, the qualified candidates will be called for counseling. However, the candidates will be called on the basis of their rank. The process of counseling includes filling of choice, allotment of seat, allotment letter downloading, reporting to the center, verification of the document, and fee payment. Also, all these steps are divided into multiple rounds. There will be three rounds of allotment. Moreover, the candidates will get the seats on the basis of their choice in these 3 rounds. Also, after the result declaration candidate will get a mail. It has a new mail id and password. Hence, with that ID and password, the candidate has to fill in their choices.
The next step will be counseling. The counseling consists of three stages:
Firstly, the candidate has to select the college and the course. Also, the candidate will get a new email id and password to select their choice. After login, the candidate has to fill in their choices.
The seat allotment is done in three rounds. Almost 50 % of seats get allotted in the first round. Then, the candidates who have not secured seats in the first round can go for the second round. Moreover, all the vacant seats are filled in the third round.
