National Institute of Design(NID) Design Aptitude Test is an entrance exam which is conducted nationally for admissions to UG and PG courses that is offered by NID campuses. NID ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

AGE:

• Indian Nationals (Both General and General EWS) –The condition being they should be born on or after 1^st July 2001. Only then the applicants would be eligible for admission.
• Reserved Category Indian Nationals (Scheduled Castes(SCs), Scheduled Tribes(STs), Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer(NCL) born on or after 1^st July 1998 are eligible for sitting for the exam.
• PwD Indians who are born on or after 1^st July 1996 are eligible to apply for admission.
• Foreign Nationals belonging to the Overseas Category can apply for the admission if they are born on or after 1^st July 2001.

 

Educational Qualification:

In addition to the age criterion stated above, the applicants need to fulfil at least one of the following qualifications to be eligible for admission to NIDs.

Bachelor degree in any specialization with a minimum 4 – year duration, after 12th or equivalent to 12th- This degree must be recognized by law in India.

Moreover, applicants need to have passed the examination during the time of verification of documents scheduled for the year.

A Diploma degree of minimum 4-year duration in any of the mentioned specializations like Design/ Fine Arts/Applied Arts/Architecture after 12th standard or equivalent 12th standard from any university that has been recognized by law in India. Moreover candidates need to pass the Diploma examination at the time of document verification scheduled for the year.

A Bachelor degree of minimum 3 year duration in any specialization after 12th standard or and equivalent to 12th standard

Moreover, for the year 2021 the candidates must have passed the 3 year Bachelor degree exam by 2020. For the applicants who were in the final year of the Academic session 2019-2020, and their examinations haven’t been conducted due to the pandemic can also apply.

Furthermore the students need to note that, the applicants in the final year of their Bachelor degree/Full-Time Diploma programme whose universities have not issued the final degree certificate to them can also apply provided that the students need to provide the Provisional Degree Certificate at the time time of counselling.

 

NID Registration

For the applicants who want to sit for the NID DAT exam, it’s mandatory to carry out the NID registration process through the official portal of the commission.

Step 4: Lastly and most importantly is the payment of application fees.

For NID DAT 2022 the application fee can be submitted both through online or offline mode.

In case of offline mode, the instructions have been provided: The offline payment is done mostly via Demand draft which should be in favor of “All India Management Association” payable at New Delhi.

For online mode: The online payment of application fees is fairly easy. It can be paid via. Credit card/ debit card.

NID Syllabus

In the paragraph below we would be discussing the NID syllabus. Firstly, candidates need to know that NID  Exam is held in two stages. The first phase is the preliminary exam which will comprise 2 papers. Moreover, Paper 1 consists of objective questions compromising 70 marks. NID RESULT
