About Exam and Conducting Authority

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE ) is an All India entrance test organized by the National Testing Agency for applicants to get admission into B.Sc. Hotel Management courses in India. MCHMCT JEE 2021 will be on the 10th of August 2021. The time slot of the exam is from 2 pm to 5 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm. NTA conducts the exam on behalf of the NCHM council.

 

Basic information about the exam

NCHMCT JEE 2021 is a national-level entrance test conducted for interested candidates to get admission into B.Sc. Hotel Management courses. All participating Government and Private institutes offering B.Sc. Hotel Management courses accept NCHMCT JEE scores for admission.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts NCHMCT JEE once a year in an online mode. The Application fee is Rs. 1000 for the General/OBC category candidates. For SC/ST/PwD/Transgender categories, the Application fee is Rs. 450. For candidates from the EWS category, the Application fee is Rs. 700.

There is no limit to the number of times aspirants can appear for NCHMCT JEE. However, there is an age limit for applying. The age limit for the General/OBC (Non-creamy layer) category applicants, 25 years. For SC/ST/PwD/Transgender/EWS categories the maximum age limit is 28 years.

NCHMCT JEE 2021 was conducted in an online mode. The total time of the exam is 3 hours. The exam paper will have questions in English and Hindi. The test will have 200 Multiple Choice Questions. The paper is divided into 5 sections. English language, Numerical ability & Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General knowledge & Current affair, and Aptitude for Service Sector. Correct answers get marked +4. Wrong answers will get 1 negative mark. Questions unanswered will not be marked.

Eligibility

To be eligible to appear for NCHMCT JEE, candidates must click the official website and check the detailed eligibility criteria. Candidates must check the eligibility guidelines before applying. Candidates not meeting the eligibility guidelines will not be selected. 

  • Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • Age limit: For the General and backward categories the maximum age limit is 25 years. For SC/ST/PwD/Transgender the maximum age limit is 28 years.
  • Educational qualifications: Applicants who have passed their 10+2 exam with English as a compulsory subject can apply.
  • Medical fitness: Candidates have to show a medical fitness certificate to meet the eligibility to appear for NCHMCT JEE, so they must be fit.

 

Registration

NTA released the online Application form for NCHMCT JEE 2021 on 3rd February 2021. The last date to submit the application form is on 5th July 2021.

To apply, candidates have to visit the official NTA website and perform the following steps:

1. Registration:

  1. Click on the NCHMCT website and click on “Fill Application form”:
  2. A new registration tab will open where the candidates have to register themselves by filling in personal details.
  3. Applicants have to submit Candidate Name, Date of birth, contact information, and password.
  4. After filling up personal information, the candidate is given their User ID and password on the confirmation page.

 

2. The next step is to fill up the Application form:

  1. The candidate has to log in with their user ID and password to fill up the application form.
  2. Applicants have to fill up personal details such as Candidate Name, Date of birth, Gender, Candidate address, Category, Parent’s name, nationality, contact details etc.
  3. Next, aspirants have to submit their educational qualification details such as class 10 marks, class 12 marks, exam name, board/University, and Year of passing.
  4. Lastly, the candidate has to select the exam center.
  5. The applicant can choose up to 4 exam centers.
  6. Applicants have to click on the “I agree” tab and then on the “Final Submit” tab.

 

3. Uploading of documents:

In this step, the candidates will upload scanned images of a recent passport size photograph and signature in the mentioned format.

  1. Passport size photograph must be in JPEG/JPG format and within 10-200kb in size.
  2. The Signature image should be in JPEG/JPG format and within 4-30kb in size.

Aspirants should note that they cannot change the uploaded photographs and signatures after submitting the Application form.

 

4. Payment of Application fees:

  1. Candidates can pay the Application fee online through Debit/Credit card/Net banking only. Fees cannot be paid offline.
  2. The Application fee is Rs.1000 for the General/OBC category candidates.
  3. For SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates the Application fee is Rs. 450.
  4. For EWS category candidates the Application fee is Rs. 700.

 

5. Download the Confirmation Page:

  1. After successful submission of the Application form, the candidates can download the Confirmation Page.
  2. If the Confirmation Page does not appear after payment of the fee, the amount is refunded back into the applicant’s account.
  3. Then, the candidate has to pay again to download the Confirmation Page.

 

6. Print the Application form:

  1. Once the candidates have paid, they can take a printout of the Application form.
  2. However, candidates cannot make changes in the application form after paying the application fees.

 

 Exam Syllabus

The syllabus for NCHMCT JEE is available online. The question paper has 200 MCQs from the 5 sections of the syllabus. The total time of the exam is 3 hours. The paper will be 800 marks. Candidates can check the official NTA website for the detailed exam syllabus and pattern.

The syllabus for each section is given below:

  1. English language syllabus includes topics such as, fill in the blanks, tenses, vocabulary, articles, comprehension, idioms and phrases, grammar etc.
  2. Numerical ability & Analytical aptitude syllabus has topics like work, wages, H.C.F, L.C.M, clocks, calendars, profit & loss, percentage etc.
  3. Reasoning & logical deduction syllabus has topics like blood relationships, analytical reasoning, directions, distances, and so on.
  4. General knowledge & current affairs syllabus includes topics like, sports, culture, economics, national affairs, international current affairs, important dates, abbreviations and so on.

 

Exam Pattern

NCHMCT JEE 2021 is an online entrance test for students who want admission into Hotel management institutes. The question paper will have 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

The paper has five sections.

  1. English Language.
  2. Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude.
  3. Reasoning and Logical Deduction.
  4. General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
  5. Aptitude for Service Sector.

The total number of questions is 200. The time of the paper is 3 hours. Every correct answer gets 4 marks. Every wrong answer gets a -1 mark. Unanswered questions are not marked.

The examination question paper is available in English and Hindi. Candidates can visit the NCHMCT JEE official website for more information on the exam pattern.

 

Results

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the NCHMCT JEE 2021 Results in September 2021. The results will only be available on the official NCHCMT website. Therefore, applicants must note that the results will not be available offline.

To view the results candidates follow these steps:

  1. The applicants have to visit the NTA website.
  2. Applicants have to enter their Application number, Date of Birth, Password, and security pin.
  3. View NCHMCT JEE Result.

The scorecard will have the All India Rank, total marks, and section-wise marks obtained by the candidate. Candidates cannot make changes in the results. The scorecard is valid for one year from the day of the release of the results. Candidates must keep their scorecards safely to show them during the counseling process.

 

Admit Card

NTA has released the NCHMCT JEE 2021 Admit Card on August 3rd, 2021. Candidates can download the Admit Card from the official NCHMC website. Applicants have to perform the following steps to download the Admit Card:

  1. Candidates have to visit the official website.
  2. Applicants have to log in with the Application Number, Date of Birth, Password, and Security pin.
  3. Now, the candidates can click on the “Download Admit card” to view the admit card.
  4. Candidates can save and take a printout of the Admit Card.

Also, candidates have to carry a printout of the admit card on the day of the exam. Without the Admit Card, the candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam. Only those Candidates who have completed the online application process can download the Admit Cards.

The admit cards will have the following information on them:

  1. Candidate’s Name
  2. Application Number
  3. Date of birth
  4. Gender
  5. Parent’s Name.
  6. Exam timing and Exam center address.
  7. Guidelines for the applicants.
