LEET stands for Haryana Lateral Engineering Entrance Test. LEET  is the exam that offers direct entry to diploma holders in the 2nd year or 3rd semester. This is a state-level exam. But candidates from the whole of India can appear in it.


Exam conducting Authority

The HSTES conducts LEET, Lateral Entry Entrance Test for B. E and B.Tech courses. Engineering is the most common course Indian student opt for. This test is for students who completed 3 years diploma course and wants to pursue engineering. LEET, is for students willing to take admission in the 2nd year or 3rd semester of BE and B.Tech course. This Haryana LEET is a state-level exam and is for colleges within the state.

Across the country, there are many such lateral entrance tests that are for diploma students to take admissions. In Engineering courses in the second or third semester. Students only with good scores qualify for these exams and so get a chance to take admission. Once in a year, the examination happens.


LEET Notification and News

LEET 2022 Exam Dates will possibly be announced in Jan/Feb 2022. It will possibly be organized by online mode. The exam is conducted by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). The entrance exam is known by the Haryana Lateral Entry Entrance Test (Haryana LEET).

All dates regarding LEET 2022 such as LEET application date, LEET exam date, and LEET result, as well as LEET counseling, will be available here.

Applications forms will be available on the official website of HSTES for 2022. So, visit the website and apply for the lateral entry to BE and B. Tech courses. Admission is according to the marks in the inter-se-merit list. Admission brochures are already available on the mentioned website or on the official website of Haryana State Technical Education Society from 10 August 2021.

Previously LEET application forms would come in April but because of the second wave of COVID-19, it was postponed.

LEET Exam Dates

Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) has not released LEET 2022 exam dates along with the official notification. The table below shows the tentative  official LEET 2022 exam dates:

Details regarding the second and third phases of the exam in 2022 are still unavailable. It will be reflected here as the dates are announced. However, till then one can conjecture the time gaps seeing the details of the 2021 exam mentioned ahead in the description.


The application forms are available from 20 August 2021 to 20 September 2021. Throughout the process is online.

Haryana State Technical Education Society will release the inter-se-merit list on 27th September 2021, after 5 p.m. LEET Counseling dates are available and registration for counseling will start from 27th September 2021 to 30 September 2021. This is for all BE and B. Tech lateral candidates who want to appear in LEET 2021. First LEET counseling will start from 28th September 2021 to 30th  September 2021 till 12:00 p.m. The first counseling results will declare from 1st October 2021 to 6th October 2021.

And registration process for the second LEET counseling will start from 8th October 2021 to 10th October 2021. The seat allotment result for the second counseling will declare on 11th October. From 12 October 2021 to 14 October 2021 students can go for second counseling. The examination conducting authority will release the final cut-off list on 30 October 2021. The LEET final cut-off date as per the Institute for all admission on the HSTES portal is 31st October 2021.

LEET Eligibility

To sit for the examination, LEET eligibility criteria are present. And so accordingly, one candidate sits for the exam.

Education qualification

A candidate of the general category appearing for the Haryana LEET examination must have 45% marks in diploma engineering or three years technological course. This can be from the Haryana State Board of Technical Education or any equivalent institution. The candidate completing a B.Sc. Mathematics degree from a recognized University. As defined by UGC, should obtain at least 45% of marks and passed the 12th standard with mathematics.

Candidate from reserved category must have 42.75 marks in diploma in Engineering and Technology of duration three years. This can be from the Haryana State Board of Technical Education or from any equivalent Institute. B.Sc. degree from recognized University with at least 42.75 percent of marks and standard 12 with mathematics as a subject.


Eligibility for Kashmiri Migrants

Kashmiri migrants and Haryana migrants have some other relaxation. To look into the eligibility visit the link below. Qualification for Kashmiri migrants is the same as other candidates, but they get a relaxation of 10% in the cut-off marks in Haryana LEET. And each university or institute in Haryana is reserved for Kashmiri migrants for this lateral entry in the second-year engineering course. Seats for Kashmiri migrants will be filled after the inter-se-merit percentage of the qualifying exam is calculated. After the online counseling conducted by the Haryana State Technical Education Society is totally done with.


Eligibility for Tuition Fee waiver scheme

Haryana LEET also offers a tuition fee waiver scheme only for those candidates whose annual income is less than 6 lakh. And certain documents are needed to verify the process. This TWF category will be on the merit list of the Haryana LEET examination.

To be eligible with the tuition fee waiver scheme for Haryana Leet 2021 and so the sits for this scheme are available after the first counseling This scheme gives facility to those students whose parent’s income is less than 6 lakh per year and only those candidates are eligible for this scheme. Original documents do need to avail of this tuition fee waiver scheme. Under this scheme, colleges give allowance to the student to get admission in engineering courses documents such as income certificate of parents. Haryana resident certificate, Aadhaar number, or any government ID proof.


Eligibility for Haryana residents

Candidates from Haryana will have the same marks cut-off, but all colleges will have a 15% reservation for residents.


Eligibility for Economically Weaker Sections

According to the state government maximum of 10% of the seats are reserved for economically weaker section category, to get lateral admission to second-year engineering courses in this category certain criteria are needed

  • EWS income certificate from the area the candidate is from.
  • Haryana resident certificate.
  • Mark sheet of the qualifying examination.
  • Application fee and counseling fee receipt.

All details such as name family details date of birth residential prove economically weaker category prove should be filled incorrectly. Any invalid details can cause rejection in the admission and cancellation of the application form.



LEET registration form can be filled on the online portal. Registration forms are available on the official site of the Haryana State Technical Education Society. First, candidates have to register online for the lateral entry test from the official portal. After completing the registration process, and then they have to go for the application process. Finally, they have to upload the documents. The application fees for the LEET exam 2021 are rupees 500 for all general category main and women. And the application fees of rupees 200 for SC and ST category male and female.

Counseling fees of rupees 500 are applicable for all candidates of different categories. This fee is for candidates willing to go for counseling.

Note: Application fees and counseling are not refundable once paid. For candidates who will not deposit the online application fee, the form will be rejected.

LEET Registration process

An online application that was filled by the LEET at present is verified by the authority whether proper information is put or not. When all the information and details are checked properly inter-se-merit percentage qualifying examination is prepared. And will be available on the official site of HSTES. No other result card will be issued, this is the final result card. . Any discrepancy in the form during the submission will not get the result. And if also fees payment is not the successful result will not be declared, and it is a subject to rejection.


The first step, the registration process

In the registration process, the candidate has to fill in certain information in the registration form to complete it. Once registration is completed, login credentials are sent. With all those credentials such as ID and password . The candidate should follow the next step of filling the application form.


Second step, Application form

In which the candidate has to provide all his personal details communication details and education qualification. And also, about LEET exam centers according to the preference.


The third and final step, uploading documents

Candidates need to upload passport size photographs and valid signatures on the application form. And then submit the form in the portal. After completing the process, candidates need to pay through online mode. Debit card, credit card, or net banking. As well as through E- Challan from Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank and also HDFC banks.


LEET Counseling: The overall Process

After getting an inter-se-merit percentage, candidates can register themselves for the online LEET counseling after depositing rupees 500. This payment is applicable for all category including general, SC, ST, PWD, and TWF, and economic weaker section. Payment can be made through debit cards, credit card online net banking, and also E-Challan. This payment is not refundable.
Registration for counseling would be done on the official website. During the registration for counseling, the candidate needs to submit all required documents. Haryana’s candidates should bring a Haryana resident certificate. Reserved category should bring their caste certificate. TWF category should bring all necessary required documents for availing of that scheme.

LEET Registration Guidelines

The online LEET registration application form will be available at www.onlinetesthry.gov.in. documents needed colored photograph maximum 30 KB size signature maximum 20 KB size and DMC of the qualifying examination of 500 KB size.
Candidates should check and edit all details before the final submission of the online application form. It should check the photograph the signature and the detailed marks certificate of qualifying are the right and correct ones.
If documents submitted are found duplicate, then the application is subject to rejection.
If a candidate wants to recheck or edit any information put in on the online application form, then one can do it clearly on the last date of submission of the application form.
A merit list is available after all details including the photograph, signature, and mark sheet are found valid.


Documents required in LEET Counseling

Candidates should put Aadhaar numbers at the time of online registration.
Registration for counseling will be on the official website where a candidate has to upload all required documents including residential certificate, caste certificate, and special category certificate. All these documents should be in PDF format around 500 KB in size. A candidate can change all these details until locking.
Candidates should lock their choice. If the candidate choice is not locked then the final choice is considered.


LEET Counseling Guidelines.

Candidates who already registered for first counseling should not register again for 2nd counseling. During registration, students should create their passwords for future login. Advised to keep the password secret and not to tell anyone. If any suspicious things occur candidate himself or herself totally responsible for it.

One should fill the application form after fulfilling the eligibility criteria for B.Tech lateral entry. Qualification and percentage of examination are the main requirements for the candidate. During the first counseling seat allotment is not possible, and thus it was subsequently according to the vacancy of the college admission can be given.
Candidates should not submit original certificates to the institute. Concerning college or institute can access the candidate to get an attested sign from the principal headmaster of the college or school last attended and so the candidate should do for seeking admission.


LEET Attempt

There is no age limit neither any restrictions on the number of attempts. Candidates can apply until getting qualify for the exam. No age limit restrictions are there.


LEET Exam: How to apply?

Interested candidates on the official website can apply for the LEET exam on the official website. Successful submission of the application form will. There are three main steps of filling application forms. First online registrations, putting in all the details in the application form. And the final one is uploading documents and fees payment of the application form. Successfully applying for LEET, no need to take out the printout of the application form. A candidate filling more than one application form is subject to an exemption.

LEET Admit Card

Haryana LEET 2022 will be conducted soon and so the LEET admit card will be available on the official site of Haryana State Technical Education Society. From there, students have to download the admit card and sit for the examination. Admit card contains various information such as student’s name, roll number, roll code, and exam date and time, as well as about the exam center.  The students have to carry those admit cards along with them before going to the examination center. It is effortless to download the admit card from the website and print the same.


LEET Admit cards Details

Candidates will not receive admit cards via post. LEET admit card will be available after the correct submission of the application. Any wrong descriptions in the admission form will bring changes to the admit card. So that will not be acceptable during the examination. The candidate should inform the authority to resolve the mistakes printed on the admit card. Along with that date-time and also many other pieces of information are mentioned in the admit cards such as do’s and don’ts. What one should do and what one should not do during the examination. And things to carry inside the examination hall and all basic information to maintain during a proper examination.


LEET Syllabus

The candidate should know the LEET exam syllabus and pattern well. LEET Exam is an online exam only and one paper is there, but different sections are there in it. All questions are of objective types and full marks are 90. The total time duration is one and a half hours. The question paper comprises four sections.

The full marks of this exam are 90. Four sections have different marking systems. The correct answer will get one mark and the wrong answer will not get any marks. No negative marking will be there. Un-attempted questions will not get any marks. Hence, it is considered as zero.


LEET syllabus and LEET Exam Pattern

In which section A consists of Basic Science and section B consists of Electronic stream courses and Section C for mechanical courses and section D for other stream questions. As per the student’s choice, they can attempt the question accordingly. LEET examination is conducted for the lateral entry in engineering courses. And for it, a common LEET Exam pattern is there. This is the state-level examination only for Haryana state and its colleges.

  • Section A has all basic science subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Communication Skills, and also General Awareness.
    In the basic part section A, LEET mathematics will have a Common chapter.
  •  Section B Electronics stream courses will have chapters such as
    The Element of electrical engineering.
    Element of Electronics Engineering
    Elements of computer engineering
  • Section C, mechanical stream courses will have subject
    Elements of electrical engineering
    Elements of production Engineering or manufacturing process
  • Section D has other engineering streams such as Civil engineering courses, Textile engineering, and chemical or printing engineering, Ceramic engineering and Food Technology, and also others this will have it alternative distribution of marks.


LEET Marks Weightage.

In section A, basic science will have 25 questions of 25 marks. Mathematics and physics will have eight questions from each subject. And other subjects in this section will have 3 questions from each subject, carrying 1 mark for every question.

Section B, the electronic stream, will also have 25 marks of 25 questions.
In these three subjects of electrical engineering, the subject Elements of Electronics Engineering will have 9 questions and the other two subjects in this section will have 8 questions in each chapter.

Section C Mechanical engineering stream will have only 20 questions of 20 marks
Element of electrical engineering will have eight questions and the rest two subjects will have 6 questions from each subject.

And other engineering courses will have 20 questions with 20 marks from various topics. Total 90 questions of 90 marks, and each question carries one mark.


LEET Result

HSTES will declare the LEET result. So, candidates can go through the results on the website and where conducting authority will declare the LEET result. The result will be based on the inter-se-merit list issued by the conducting authority.

Candidates who appeared for the LEET 2021 need to visit the official website of HSTES. Click on the result notification for lateral entry 2021 when it is available. Click the website and put credentials such as login ID and password. The LEET result is available on the screen.


LEET Cut-off

LEET cut-off is the minimum score to get qualified in the institute or colleges. Haryana’s cut-off list declares the same. This enables the student to get a seat in colleges and get admission. The official website of HSTES releases different cut-off lists as per the institute and categories. The cut-off list is prepared as per the seat availability, and the number of appearing students.
