Delhi University entrance test AKA DUET is an online-based entrance exam. It is conducted by a National testing agency(NTA) candidates seeking admission for undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil, and PhD courses which are offered under DU. The exam is held once a year for aspiring candidates.

Exam Latest News/Update and Notification

A few days ago NTA announced the dates for each step of registration and exam of DUET 2021. Some of the DUET news and highlights were-

  • On July 26, 2021, the DUET 2021 registration process has started for the application of the UG program.
  • The last date for registration for the UG program is August 31, 2021.
  • On July 26, 2021, the dates for the event were announced by National Test Agency.
  • The last date for the registration for the PG program is August 21, 2021.
  • On August 2, 2021, the DUET 2021 registration process has started for the application of the PG and PhD program.
  • The last date for MPhil PhD program registration is August 21, 2021.
  • The DUET 2021 will be conducted on September 26,27,28,29,30, and October 1.

About DUET and Exam Conducting Authority- NTA

In the year 2021, firstly, NTA will conduct a UG entrance exam under the DUET exam:

  • JAT BMS/BBA(FIA) & B.A.(Various subjects)
  • B.Tech(IT & Mathematics)
  • A 5 year integrated course in journalism(Hindi or English)
  • B.El.Ed.
  • B.Sc. Physical Ed, Health Ed, and Sports Sciences
  • Bachelor in Physiotherapy, Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics & Bachelor in Occupational Therapy

Secondly, NTA also manages various entrance exams for PG under the DUET exam like:

  • M.A. (Various subject)
  • M.Sc. (Various streams)
  • MCA
  • M.Com
  • M.tech
  • B.Ed

Lastly, NTA also conducts M.Phil and PhD entrance examinations under DUET.

The NTA is in charge of conducting entrance exams for DU, name as Delhi University examination (DUET). It has been under NTA since 2019.

About NTA, the National Testing Agency is an autonomous hence independent, and self-sustained premier testing organization. The Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), at present known as the Ministry of Education(MoE), established the NTA.

NTA, established under the societies registration act (1860). NTA conducts an efficient, transparent, international standard test. The factual purpose behind this is to check the talent among candidates to get admission in premium institutions.

 

DUET-2021 – Basic Information

The DUET examination is a mandatory entrance test for getting admissions in UG, PG, or P.hd. courses. DUET is specially composed for the entrance tests for DU and affiliated colleges.

NTA is responsible for conducting many entrance exams, including DUET. DUET application form for the examination is available from August 2nd for all courses. The last date to complete the application for UG is August 31st. And for PG and P.hD., it is August 21st. Fill the forms before the last dates.

For now, DUET conducts many entrance exams offered by DU. The mode of examination is Computer Based Test. And the duration of the exam is 2 hours maximum. The format will be Multiple Choice Questions based. The paper is of a total of 50 questions of 4 marks each. The marking scheme is the same as other exams. Negative marking will be there for this exam. A -1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The language for the question paper will be English. Duet application fee for the General category is Rs 500.

The frequency of the DUET exam is once every year. The examination is in online mode. But, the mode of counselling is offline. DUET is a National Level exam in which 4 colleges participate. The exam will be at allotted centres in different cities. Centres are – Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc. The exam centres, once selected by the candidate, can’t be changed. But, NTA can allot cities other than the options made by the candidate in the application form.

Important

After the registration process, the DUET Admit Card will be available soon. The candidates need to download it from the official website. Soon after the exams, the results will get uploaded to the official website. As soon as the score is out, DU and affiliated colleges start the counselling process.

At least eight DUET 2021 admission lists will be released by universities for their respective entrance test exam. The candidate’s name in the DU merit list will be just a few steps away from admission. These candidates have to go to the online portal to complete the process. First, upload the documents. And last, pay the fees according to the fee structure for a particular course.

Exam date

DUET Notification pdf released on July 27, 2021. Further proceeding with the registration starting from August 2, 2021. But the window closes on different dates for different streams. The admit card releases before the exams, the date of release is still not sure.

As of now, exam dates are from September 26 to October 1 for various streams. The provisional answer key will upload in October. The final answer key will release in October. And finally, the result will be released in late October, soon after which counselling will commence.

Exam Notification

On July 21, 2021, NTA released the DUET Notification pdf on the official website. In other words, NTA announces the commencement of the DUET-2021.

Important dates for registration are in the Notification pdf. The table is for reference –

DUET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for any of the entrance examinations under DUET 2021 has to meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility set is different for various exams. To know read the article carefully.

 

DUET Eligibility Criteria for UG courses

DUET B.Tech Eligibility Criteria.

  • Candidates must have passed their 12th exams and have an aggregate of 60% in the exam.
  • With Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects, the candidate must have secured 60% in at least four subjects.
  • There are no age criteria under eligibility for DUET.

 

DUET B.A.Hons Eligibility Criteria.

  • Candidates must have cleared the Class 12th exam or equivalent exam with an aggregate of 60%.
  • There aren’t any compulsory subjects. But, the candidate must have secured 60% in at least four subjects.
  • There aren’t any age criteria for this exam too.

 

DUET L.L.B. Eligibility Criteria.

  • Candidate needs to secure at least 50% aggregate in their graduation.
  • Candidates under SC/ST category have to score at least 40%.
  • And OBC, PwD, and CW candidates need to score 45% in their graduation.
  • No age bar for the appearing candidates.

 

DUET B.B.A/ B.M.S Eligibility Criteria.

  • Candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% of marks in Class 12th.
  • It can be with any stream – Science, Commerce, Humanities.
  • The obtained marks should be from the group of four subjects, including English and Mathematics.

 

DUET Integrated Courses in Journalism Eligibility Criteria.

  • Candidates must have scored 50% in Class 12th.
  • The average of 50% marks will be purely based on the best four subjects with one compulsory language.

 

DUET Eligibility Criteria for PG courses

DUET M.A. Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates are intended to score at least 45% marks in their graduation.
  • There is no restriction on the stream.
  • It means that candidates from any stream can opt for the programs if they can fulfil the eligibility criteria.

 

DUET M.C.A. Eligibility Criteria.

  • Candidates must secure at least 60% in their graduation.
  • Candidates should have a graduation degree from DU.
  • The degree can be from any other University recognized equivalent to DU.
  • Candidates should have Mathematics like operational research, stats, maths, computer science as mandatory subjects under their annual mode.
  • In short, they need to have at least two subjects from Mathematics in a semester or equivalent degree.

 

DUET M.Sc. Eligibility Criteria.

  • Candidates must have scored at least 50% for a general category candidate
  • For OBC category candidates, the average should be 45%.
  • And for SC categories candidates, 40%.

 

DUET Registration Process

On July 26, 2021, the application form for DUET 2021 came out. To appear in the examination, a candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria. They must make sure to fill the application form correctly following the DUET Registration Process. At last, candidates need to fill in their details, education, along with the documents.

The mode of application is Online. The payment for the application will be Online means. It can be a Credit/Debit card/ UPI. Cash will not be accepted.

It has the following steps to fulfil the registration and completion of the application.

 

Step 1 – Online Registration.

  • Visit DU online admission portal’s Official Website.
  • The candidate will now have to register for the DUET exam.
  • Fill in the details like – Name, valid email address, select a security question, password, and captcha code.
  • Now hit the “Submit” button.
  • A screen with registration details will appear after submitting you can save it for the future.

 

Step 2 – Login.

  • After successful completion of registration for DUET 2021, a candidate will now have to log in.
  • Using their registered details like email as username, passcode, and captcha code.
  • After clicking “Submit,” you are moved to the details page.

 

Step 3 – Filling the application form.

  • After logging in, candidates should thoroughly read the declaration before agreeing and proceeding.
  • Candidates need to fill in their details, academic details, bank account details in case of form fee refund, merit-based course selection, entrance-based program selection, sports, and any extracurricular activities.
  • Click on the “Submit” button after filling in all required details.

 

Step 4 – Document Uploading.

  • Firstly, candidates will now have to upload the documents for the verification of the details provided previously.
  • Secondly, the documents to be uploaded will be scanned photos of their documents.
  • Documents like passport size photograph, signature, copies of Class 10th and 12th passing certificate, caste certificate(if any), Sports certificate(if applicable).
  • At last, click the “Next” button to move further.

 

Step 5 – Application form Preview.

  • The application preview is displayed for the candidates to recheck the form.
  • In short, candidates can still make changes to the application before submitting it.

 

Step 6 – Application fee payment.

  • After submitting the form preview, the website will direct you to the fee payment gateway.
  • The payment for DUET registration fees is through all Online modes like- Credit card, Debit card, Net banking, UPI.

 

Step 7 – Submit the application form.

  • After the payment is successful, a receipt can be saved or downloaded.
  • Candidates should download the form after the completion of the process for future notes.

Exam Admit Card

The DUET admits card is easily downloadable from the official website. Candidates can get the admit card by logging in with their username, password, and captcha code. Only registered candidates will be able to download the DUET admit card. The admit card is the most crucial document carried to the entrance exam centre. In short, to appear for the exam candidate must possess the admit card with other required documents.

 

The admit card for the DUET exam will have the following details, which the candidate has provided to NTA while registering.

  • Name of the Candidate.
  • Roll number and Registration number for the candidate.
  • Duration of the exam.
  • The subject of the exam.
  • Exam centre details such as the name and address of the allotted centre.
  • Time of reporting at the centre.
  • Candidate’s photograph.
  • Candidate’s Signature.

 

The candidate should carefully download the admit card from the website and place it carefully. A candidate isn’t allowed in the examination hall if he does not have their admit cards.

Firstly, candidates should get at least two copies of the downloaded admit card. Secondly, both prints will get signed by the invigilator at the exam centre on the day of the exam.

Candidates have to carry some other certified documents on the day of the examination.

Exam Result

NTA announced the dates for the DUET exam 2021. According to the notification, the exam will be from September 26 to October 1 for different streams. NTA is yet to announce the dates for the answer key and result. As soon as the exam ends, results will be out. To check results, candidates need to log in to the official website of the NTA on specific dates. In the conclusion, the result card will have the following details-
