CMAT is a computer-based entrance exam, which NTA conducts every year for admission in the management programs. The exam tests the student’s Quantitative Knowledge and reasoning ability.
The CMAT exam consists of 100 questions. there are four sections in the exam and each section consists of 25 questions. NTA nowadays conducts the entrance exam once a year. However, till 2015 it was twice every year.
In 2021 NTA revised the exam pattern by introducing an additional section in the question paper but this is an optional section and the students who choose to write this section get some extra time to complete the exam.
CMAT in infancy: In India, there are many entrance exams for MBA Programs such as CAT, MAT, SNAP, NMAT, State-level exams, etc. and these many exams were creating a lot of stress for the students to reduce the burden on the students AICTE introduced CMAT entrance test it accepted by both Govt and Private colleges.
The Tribhuvan University of Nepal also conducts the CMAT entrance exam for admissions in the Management Programs present in the University. Students need to get a minimum of 40 marks to get admissions to the following Programs.

The Registration and the application form for CMAT 2022 will begin in November. NTA hasn’t released any notification on the official website. Students need to keep checking the website for more information.
Certain requirements need to be met to write the CMAT exam. Students need to check the CMAT eligibility criteria and then apply for the exam. Every exam consists of these requirements known as the eligibility criteria.
NTA specifies the CMAT eligibility criteria for the students which are as follows:

The admission of the students depends on many factors such as the marks scored by the students, availability of the seats, and the reservation of the seats. Given below is the percentage of reservation of seats in Govt colleges for private colleges the percentage might change.

Other- Backward Classes:-
Students can check the OBC-NCL list on the Govt of India’s official website. the list is prepared as per the NCBC. students when registering for CMAT need to select the category they belong to. the categories present in the list are only accepted as OBC-NCL so if the students’ category is not on the list then they should apply under GC.
This Means a person with not less than 40 % of “specified disability” it is defined in the schedule of the RPwD Act 2016. the following are the categories of disability.
Students who belong to any of the disability categories as mentioned above. need to submit a request to the CMAT exam center superintendent to include their requirement as scribe or reader and students also need to have a certificate signed by the medical officer
Test takers who provide services to disabled students are given 60 minutes extra time.
The exam center superintendent provides a reader who is academically junior to the student so that the students can’t engage in any malpractices.
There are many reservations for the minority groups in Govt colleges there are many documents that students need to submit to seek benefit. the following are the documents that students need to submit.
If students fail to provide any of the necessary documents then they won’t get any benefit from the reservation category.
Students who want to appear for CMAT 2022, conducted in January need to register for the exam from the official website. The registration forms will be released in November 2021 on the official website, Students can check the website for more information.

After paying the application fees a page will appear on the screen indicating confirming the application form submission status. students need to download and take a print of this as a proof for the payment of CMAT application fee.

After registering for the exam students need to know the CMAT syllabus and the exam pattern and prepare for the exam accordingly the syllabus and the exam pattern will be present in the conducting authority’s official website. NTA prescribes the syllabus for CMAT it consists of four subjects, students are advised to see the subtopics present in these subjects and prepare for the exam. following are the subjects in the syllabus.
From each of the above subjects 25 questions will be given, In 2021 NTA had introduced an additional section “Innovation & Entrepreneurship ” this is an optional section for the students who are interested in Entrepreneurship, Students who chose this subject are given extra time to complete the exam. there are many subtopics present in these subjects and all these subtopics are present on the official website students need to know all the subtopics and purchase the books which consists of all the sub-topics present in the CMAT syllabus and prepare for the exam.

Students need to know the exam pattern of the CMAT exam and prepare for the exam accordingly. NTA prescribes the exam pattern on the official website. the exam consists of 4 sections and each section consists of 25 questions.

The admit card will be available from the second week of January on the official website. Only the students who have registered and paid the application fee can download their admit cards.
NTA will announce the admit card dates along with exam and registration schedule in November on the official website. Students can download and take a print of the admit card from the website by entering the application number and password
The Admit card is a vital document as it contains all the important details of the student and all the students need to take the admit card and ID Proof to the exam center. without them they won’t be allowed to the exam hall
Before taking the print of the admit card students are advised to check all the details present in the admit card and If any of the details in the admit card are wrong then students need to inform the higher authority immediately and get them corrected before the exam otherwise they might face problems in the exam hall.
Students are advised to keep their admit cards safe till the declaration of the results, as the admit card of the student also contains their roll number which is used for checking the results on the website.
The admit card also contains the details of the exam center, while registering for the exam students need to chose the city of their exam center and they have the option of choosing up to 4 cities.
Generally students are allotted the centers which they have selected as the first preference while registering for the exam but sometimes those centers may be full so they may be allotted another exam center. and the exam center can’t be changed once it is present in the admit card.

NTA will declare the results in the first week of February on their official website, Students can download and take a print of the results by using their login credentials
The CMAT scorecard will be available for download only for a short period of time, so the qualified students need to download and take a print of the result as soon as the results are declared
NTA releases the merit list of the students after declaration of CMAT results based on the merit list the admission of the students in the MBA Program is done.
Around 1000 B-schools in India accept CMAT score for admission in the MBA Program only the students who have qualified CMAT can apply to these MBA colleges and seek admission for the Management Programs. the admission of the student is based on many factors such as the availability of sets , reservation etc. but it is mainly based on 3 factors and they are cut-off, group discussion and personnel interview.

Before explaining the admission process there are some key points that students need to know they are as follows
Every CMAT participating institute holds their own group discussion and personnel interview. the dates will be announced by the institutes on their official websites so students need to keep checking the website for more information.
CMAT Cutoff :-
The CMAT cut-off is the minimum marks students need to score to be eligible for admissions, CMAT participating colleges will release their cut-off on their website and the cut-off for each of these colleges might be different.
Group Discussion:-
After the selection of the students based on their CMAT score , the next round of selection consists of group discussion it tests the students communication skills, problem solving ability etc. this round holds lot of importance so students are advised to be well prepared for this round.
Personnel Interview:-
This round tests the students inter-personnel skills of the students such as the command over speech, confidence and their managerial abilities etc. students need to be present in person for both group discussion and personnel interview.
Final selection:-
Based on the overall performance of the students in the CMAT exam, group discussion, personnel interview ,academic qualification etc. the selection is done for the MBA programs.
