Aero India 2025, the 15th edition of the country’s premier aerospace and defense exhibition, has taken off in grand style at the Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru. Set to be the biggest-ever Aero India to date, this year’s event is expected to witness participation from over 900 exhibitors, including 150 foreign companies, making it a landmark moment in India’s aviation and defense sector.
With the theme “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities,” the five-day event (February 10-14) underscores India’s growing influence in global defense and aerospace manufacturing.
The event was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, reinforcing India’s commitment to strengthening its self-reliant defense ecosystem. The exhibition has attracted leading global aerospace giants like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Dassault Aviation, Airbus, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), showcasing cutting-edge innovations in aviation, military technology, and space defense.
Aero India 2025 is not only a stage for India’s domestic aerospace sector but also an international hub for defense collaborations. Delegations from countries such as the United States, France, Russia, Israel, and the United Kingdom are present, signaling increased global cooperation in aerospace technology, joint ventures, and defense manufacturing.
This year’s event is particularly special as it features the historic debut of advanced fifth-generation fighter jets. For the first time, Russia’s Su-57 and America’s F-35 Lightning II are being showcased at Aero India, marking a new era in India’s defense partnerships. These aircraft, known for their stealth capabilities and superior combat technology, are among the biggest attractions of the event.
On the indigenous front, India is displaying its technological advancements through HAL’s Tejas Mk-2, a more advanced version of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), and the much-anticipated Combat Air Teaming System (CATS) Warrior, an unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) that can operate alongside manned fighter jets. This innovation reflects India’s strides in autonomous air combat and artificial intelligence-driven warfare systems.
Additionally, Aero India 2025 features cutting-edge drone technology, electronic warfare systems, and missile defense solutions, further strengthening India’s position as a key player in the global defense sector.
One of the most awaited attractions of Aero India is its breathtaking aerial displays, and this year’s performances have exceeded expectations. Spectators were left spellbound by the precision flying of the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and the Sarang Helicopter Display Team, as well as thrilling maneuvers from the Rafale, Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Apache helicopters, and F-35.
These performances not only showcase the strength of India’s Air Force but also highlight the technological capabilities of modern aircraft. The event’s final two days are open to the public, allowing aviation enthusiasts to witness up-close some of the world’s most sophisticated fighter jets and aerial stunts.
Aero India 2025 has cemented its place as one of the biggest and most influential aerospace exhibitions in the world. With a record-breaking number of exhibitors, cutting-edge aviation technology, and thrilling aerial performances, this edition truly embodies the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and self-reliance.
As India continues to expand its footprint in the global defense and aerospace sectors, Aero India remains a crucial event that showcases the country’s progress while fostering international partnerships. The sky is no longer the limit, Aero India 2025 has set new benchmarks, propelling India towards a future of aviation excellence.
