69 years to the day, as the nation celebrated its 70th Independence Day, Chegg India too commemorated the memorable day with a patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. It was inspiring to see the events conducted as Chegg immersed itself in the beauty, grandeur and glory of tricolor – the TIRANGA, with celebrations beginning a week before.

Chegg India had a plethora of activities organized in the week based on the theme “Independence” – Drawing, Poetry, Short Story Writing, Selfies, Songs, Dances, Short Films and Fancy-Dress Competitions. Welcomed with a bouquet, he was taken through a slide show on Chegg, followed by a small tour of the office. He spoke on the occasion, and stated that no mountain is insurmountable, and no goal unattainable, if one drives it with self-confidence. He also stressed on the fact that success in life depends on the use and not the abuse of freedom that is so hard-earned.

Director-Chegg India, Mr. Sam Oguri addressed the gathering. Quoting John F. Kennedy “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” he briefed on Chegg India’s journey from a start-up company to being one of the top-notch academic giants.

The journey of the past influences our journey into the future; this fact enhances the importance of the present generation to realize the sacrifices made by our martyrs. India has a deeply embedded rich history that binds us in unison.

The day united all Cheggsters!

Chegg paid homage to the freedom fighters as our employees dressed up as freedom fighters, were the cynosures and stole the show.

The event ended with a Vote of Thanks followed by savoring of refreshments.

Our Delhi office too celebrated this grand day. The whole office adorned with tricolor balloons and flags, was remarkably captivating and impactful in channelizing the essence of Independence Day. Cheggsters dressed in ethnic wear to celebrate the theme of the day, the celebration really began with games based on the theme of patriotism followed by a small quiz competition. The celebrations ended on an energetic note with everyone feasting on lip-smacking snacks.

The spirit of patriotism pervaded in all the souls of Chegg and the event invoked a deep sense of ‘desh-bhakti’ and intense pride in the hearts and minds of Cheggsters, as they reminisced India’s past glory, its fight for freedom and its resurgence. The event succeeded in bringing out those deeply buried nostalgic feelings of unity, fraternity, and nationalism that envelope us at the time of the year as we embraced the Indian-ness in us.
